Information Technology has been called the lifeblood of business operations because it plays a key role in how information is created, stored, exchanged and used throughout the business world today. IT specialists are in high demand, and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has forecast that the field will grow by 12 percent through 2024, well above average for all career fields.



Cloud Computing

This course prepares students to provision and support cloud computing, and will also help to prepare students for industry certification exams. Topics include software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), data storage, RAID systems, big data, network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN), cloud computing, hypervisors, business continuity, replication, virtualization, virtual machines, physical to virtual conversion, and live migration. Students will work in groups to build their own cloud infrastructure with shared storage, multiple hosts, and cloud management.

*Prerequisites: Cisco CCENT / ICND 1, Introduction to UNIX (Linux), and Windows Server Administration or instructor approval.
